One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, …floor!

We couldn’t go to Mexico without writing a review about its most famous liquor. Tequila is made from the agave plant using the same process as is used for making Mezcal. The only difference is that it has to be made in the region of Tequila to use the name. Similar to Champagne.

By itself the drink is not pleasing. However, add some salt and lime and we have the making of a party. Unlike other drinks which people say are depressive, tequila is said to make you happy. Although there is no scientific proof to back this up I am able to report that I have indeed drank tequila and I am most certainly happy. I’m sure that counts

Another popular Mexican drink which we have consumed a fair few of is the tequila based cocktail Margarita. Made by mixing tequila with triple sec and lemon juice and adding salt around the rim of the glass, this cocktail is blamed for a few hangovers we have had. Trying to make a similar tasting version I use the strongly lemon flavoured Squirt drink with added limes.
