Another year is over and without a doubt this has been one the best years of our lives. Its been a difficult task but we have managed to pick out a few of our top moments of 2015. Having passed through 16 countries and spent 243 days on the road 2015 has been one long adventure!
The paradise moment – The Corn Islands, Nicaragua
This little known island 80km of the coast of Nicaragua is the perfect place to chill and find a deserted beach all of your own!
The historic moment – Tikal, Guatemala
By far the most majestic of all the ancient Mayan cities we have visited. Tikal is huge, well preserved and set against the backdrop of the Guatemalan jungle.
The runners up were..... Palenque, Mexico, and Teotihuacan, Mexico
The "Oh my god are you serious!" moment – Leaving the car keys in the Grand Canyon, USA
Spending all day hiking into and then out of the Grand Canyon only to realise that you have left your cars keys at the bottom is quite possibly the stupidest thing you can do!
The fishiest moment, Isla Holbox, Mexico
Swimming with whale sharks and turtles. Watching dolphins, flamingos and flying fish in pristine Caribbean waters and finishing the day drinking beers while the sun sets. Perfect!
The most political moment – Talking with revolutionaries in Leon, Nicaragua
The museum was not so special but it is ran by Nicaragua's revolutionary fighters who are real life living history.
The sweatiest moment – Five day jungle hike to the ancient city of El Mirador, Guatemala
Trekking through miles of untamed Guatemalan jungle, the destination the long lost city of EL Mirador, this ancient city captures the imagination.
The most adrenaline pumping moment - White water rafting, San Gil, Colombia
The Rio Suarez is no lazy river, grade four and five rapids make this white water river an adrenaline fuelled ride of a life time.
Finding the perfect detour moment – Death Valley National Park, USA
A snow storm covered Yosemite National Park so we opted to go somewhere much warmer. The amazing landscapes made Death Valley a place to remember.
The moment that can't be described, Iguassu Falls, Brazil
Quite simply breath-taking, there is no photo, video or words that can describe this place. You simply need to see it with your own eyes.
The moment we felt like we could have stayed forever – Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
We spent two and half weeks here, longer than anywhere else. Such a beautiful place.
The moment we sat on the open road, Monument Valley, USA
If you think it looks like a film set, that's because it is. This iconic landscape is breathtakingly surreal.
The most overrated moment - Volcano boarding, Nicaragua
Throwing yourself down a volcano on a plank of wood dressed in a stupid suit sounded pretty cool...
The most "out of this world" moment - Camping in the Redwoods, California, USA
Walking between the tallest trees on earth is like stepping back in time to a prehistoric age, these huge trees are other worldly.
The most difficult moment – Climbing Volcano Acatenango, Antigua, Guatemala
Just short of 4000m Acatenango was a challenging, two day, uphill struggle that we were completely under prepared for. In the end it was worth it to view the huge close up eruptions of nearby Volcano Fuego.
The moment we found amazing landscapes - Zion National Park, USA
America's greatest secret is its national parks, amazing scenery and hiking without the huge crowds of the Grand Canyon
Moments you want to last forever - Snorkelling with sting rays and sharks – Caye Caulker, Belize
The Belize barrier reef is the second largest in the world, Caye Caulker is a chilled out island in the Caribbean sea, put the two together and you have the perfect getaway.
The laziest moment - Swinging in a hammock on a four day slow boat down the Amazon, Colombia to Brazil
Sit back and watch the world go by on the world's biggest river
The moment when eating ants was a good idea - Barichara, Colombia
It was sunny and the old colonial town was beautiful, except somewhere nearby fat bottom ants were being fried ready to be eaten. And eat them we did.
The scariest moment - Ziplining and Tarazan swinging through Monteverde cloud forest, Costa Rica
The longest zipline in Latin America and a terrifying 300ft jump out the tree canopy had me screaming in fear!
Tarzan SwingJumping from a 300ft platform out of the jungle canopy.

The moment the monkeys attacked, Leticia, Colombia
These monkeys thought we were some kind of climbing frame!
The claustrophobic moment - Caving in search of ancient relics, San Ignacio, Belize
Swimming in water, climbing up rocks, sliding down waterfalls and squeezing through crevices neck deep in water all in search of ancient relics and burials left long ago buy an ancient civilisation.
What adventures will next year bring?
Happy New Year and all the best for 2016!
